Double Guarantees Week

Missed out on SN due to taking a break towards the end of 2010. Was in serious need of a break from poker and it turned out to be worth it as I've come back pretty strong this January with a few final tables already, highlights being 2nd in the NHG on PS ($19k) and 4th in a big $163 on FTP this week during double gtds week for $28k. Its definitely important to stand back from poker every now and again, take a break and re-evaluate things.

Hitting the double gtd week hard and looking towards the FTOPS in 12 days.

Coaching and SN update

I had a 5 hour coaching session today which I feel I learned alot from.

We went over my 4max $320 WCOOP event where I ran deep and played against some top regs.

We mainly went over some basic poker math that I have actually not been implementing properly in my game. After the HH review we took a look at shoving ranges and ran some ChipEv calculations which proved quite insightful. I'm looking forward to seeing the outcome of these latest tweeks to my game in the coming weeks.

RCOOP

I just discovered Pokerstars plans to hold the RCOOP ( Regional Championships of Online Poker). Its basically a series of online tournaments specific to each region (as it says on the tin) so you can battle it out against your fellow countrymen at the online felt.

They plan to hold 11 events from the 5th to the 12th of December with a gtd prizepool of $512k.

Poker wise, Ive been grinding out the turbo MTTSNG on PS along with my normal schedule.

I took 4th in the $55 $10k Gtd (500 Cap) on Friday Night for $1500 and change. I had a big chiplead 6handed and made some overly aggressive plays which got me into trouble. Sometimes less is more when it comes to aggression at final tables, its something im learning the hard way.

Thats it for now, a big schedule lined up for sunday and I;m focusing my attention on the DNG and Milly. Lets go!

Wednesday $320

Played the Wednesday $320 last night. Made the money comfortably when i doubled in the early/midstages with TT vs QQ. Just inside the money i 4bet allin from c/o vs aggro sb with QJ for him to call with AT for a 75bb pot (dunno if i like his call). This decimated my stack down to 8 bigblinds but back to back PocketKings from utg+1 and utg sorted me out nicely and i was back to 30bbs. I grinded out down to the last 2 tables and made a 4b from button vs aggro sb to get flatted and see a flop of AKK. My K6 was looking great when i shipped in my last 15bigs but he snapped off QQ and runner runners the straight. My exit hand was definitely a mistake, I should be nitting it up there 2 tables out lying average stack. $1.8k for 17th, maybe next time!

With regard to SN status, I now have 82,664 VPPS so need to get moving.

Gonna fireup some $12 180s, thats all for now.

Full throttle ahead!

As i Write this first post i currently have 82,200 VPP's and require another 18,000 before year end to achieve Supernova on Pokerstars.com

To achieve this I will be putting in huge volume across all mtt and also throwing in lots of $12-$36 180man.

I will be updating this blog frequently so follow me on my attempt to reach this milestone for the first time in my poker career.
